[Web Services] A way to add a new runtime [message #179004] Wed, 13 September 2006 08:13 Go to next message

Hello,
I work with eclipse 3.2 and callisto, wtp.
I use Oracle Application Server 10.1.3 (OC4J). For my web services I d
like to use the runtime of OC4J instead of the only one proposed by the
toolkit of eclipse (eg. Axis).

Is there a way to add and configure a new WS runtime in eclipse.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Alexandre Touret

Alexandre,
yes, there is a way, though it isn't very well documented. The Web services
platform, meaning the wizards and the core processing model beneath them,
provides extension points thru which support for new Web service engines
can be integrated. In response to another post, I am looking into providing
some documentation on how to do this, however, it may be a while coming.
WTP's own support for Apache Axis [1] extends the Web services platform. If
you have a look at the Axis plugins, you'll start to see how it's done.

Cheers - CB.

[1] Axis plugins:
org.eclipse.jst.ws.axis.consumption.core
org.eclipse.jst.ws.axis.consumption.ui
org.eclipse.jst.ws.axis.creation.ui
