why do we draw connection lines and graph into different layer [message #177456]

when graphs overlaps, it looks a little wierd.
i know draw them in different layer can improve the effiency, but looks
not that good.

This is done for simplicity (most GEF clients don't have nested containers),
and for the case when connections go from inside a nested contianer to
outside.

If you only have connections within the container, you could choose a
different parent figure for the connections.
