I'd love to switch from netbeans to eclipse but I'm starting to get frustrated with long delays which seem to be like timeouts.
I'm running SUSE 10.0 and eclipse 3.1.2 with WTP nstalled. The delay happens when I create a new web or EJB project, it seems to hang for over a minute or so, then return without error.
I have noticed that the install/update does fail to connect, could this be related. Is there an eclipse IDE error log I should check...?

Solved.
Eclipse makes a call over http to check licences (not sure why though). The issue for me was resolved by a related issue I was having with ipv6. By changing modprobe.conf netpf10 setting from ipv6 to off. Solved the issue.
I guess the http lookup means if you try and work offline, it will always timeout.
