I am using birt viewer tag in my application embedded in a jsp page to display the reports. Is there a way i can use an implementation of IProgressMonitor to monitor status of my report rendering.
The final goal is to display appropriate message on the Progress bar as to which state of generation is the report in. This will give the user some idea about approximately how much time before report gets rendered for long running reports.

Any pointers on this will be helpful.

I haven't tried this before but I think the first step would be to look into webcontent/birt/pages/control/ProgressBarFragment.jsp which is where I think you'd place any code to show the percent complete. I'll have to read a little more about IProgressMonitor and let you know what I come up with.
