Is there a SIMPLE example of a Custom Widget using RemoteAPI somewhere?
I've tried to use CKEditor, which is great, and it works just fine, but the JS for this is overcomplex as a basic example.
The GoogleMaps example from older API seems straight-forward, but there is no RemoteAPI version of this yet as far as I can see? (did I miss it somewhere?)
If I am to persevere with CKEditor, is there an unpacked copy of the ckeditor.js that I can use for reference?
Or even better, a 'how to' guide, like there was for the old GoogleMaps control before RemoteAPI came along?
Thanks, John

Hi John,
Tim started a Wiki here: http://wiki.eclipse.org/RAP/Custom_Widgets_FAQ
We will extend it over time.
Best,
Ivan

Thanks Ivan, but I guess I'm too thick for this to make enough sense!
I'm not familiar with JavaScript yet, which doesn't help.
What I really need is a simple control's js file with the various wrappers and method implementations to make it communicate via the RemoteAPI.
I'll carry on plugging through and try to make it work, but without a readable example, it is proving rather a lot for my poor small brain Wink
Thanks, John

I don't think there is any reason to read ckeditor.js or it's source.
If you need to understand it's API, just go to:

http://docs.cksource.com/ckeditor_api/

All that was added for RAP is in the handler.js!

If you have any specific questions, I really want to expand on the FAQ,
but I currently have no time to create another example widget.

Greetings,
Tim
