Hi everyone,

In our project we use only basic OSGI features (services, installing bundles, etc). Our software is going to run on embedded devices, and some of them have very little memory. We would like to use Equinox as the OSGI implementation but it is too big for some of the devices.

Are there any packages that are not necessary and could be easily removed? Do you think it is possible to reduce significantly its size?

To clarify, we're interested in minifying the file size of the org.eclipse.osgi jar. Our target device has 5.4 megabytes of storage space and our application is currently 5.9 megabytes in size. As the largest jar, we're hoping to make some savings by repackaging Equinox to remove any unnecessary code.
