Hi,

Is it possible with BIRT to create charts that

a) have timestamps as x values
b) are interactive: the user can
- zoom in / out
- get a tooltip on datapoints
c) can be integrated into eclipse RAP (e.g into a view)

If yes, I would be happy if someone could point me to an example or some documentation!

Best,
Julia

PS: I already have an eclipse RAP running and I checked
http://wiki.eclipse.org/RAP/BIRT_Integration
but
a) I didn't understand how to integrate the BIRT runtime, so I included the required jar files as 'Referenced Libraries'
b) the examples shown there are not interactive

You can have dateTime values for the x-axis values, so you shouldn't have a problem there. For interactivity, the out-of-the-box charts in OS BIRT have tooltips and drill throughs and bookmarks, but not zooming in and out. You'd have to create multiple charts or a drill through to get this with the standard charts.

As for the integration of the runtime, you should just have to take the libs from the runtime download and put them in your classpath. BIRT 3.7+ has a POJO runtime.
