Hello,

I just installed Glassfish 4.0 and Eclipse Kepler with the aim of developing code for JabaServer Faces 2.2. Although Eclipse is working and I can get Glassfish 4.0 to start up manually, and runs on localhost:8080, with the console on localhost:4848, I am unable to get Glassfish running from Eclipse. It tries to start up, then fails with the message:

Unable to start server due to the following issues:
Wrong user name or password. Killing startup process.

In Eclipse I have the following configurations:

Path is <path>\domains\domain1 set up

Admin name is "admin"
Admin Password is "admin", I also tried "adminadmin" which is the default.
Server Port Number is 8080
Admin Server Port Number is 4848

User Anonymous Connection for Admin Commands: checked
Preserver Sessions Across Redeployment: checked
User Jar Archives: unchecked

I tried the first of the three check boxes both checked and unchecked.

Finally, the JRE is jre7 in the runtime environment.

No matter what I do, I am unable to get Glassfish to work with Eclipse. I tried to uninstall Glassfish from Eclipse then re-install it again, as well as closing Eclipse then restarting it.

In an earlier version of Eclipse I have Glassfish 3 working correctly. I would be grateful if somebody could kindly help me get this fixed - many thanks.

This is a topic for the Eclipse web tools forum.

OK, many thanks, I see that you copied my message to that forum.

It is a long time since I have used any of the Eclipse forums, and I did not know about the web tools forum.

My posting seems to have been removed from the web tools forum. Anyway the problem appears to have been solved. I re-installed the connection to Glassfish 4.0 and left the password field blank, now Glassfish starts up without complaining and a test JSF 2.2 page is displayed correctly.
