Hi,

I am using BIRT 2.6, have no problems in moving over to 4.3.
Problem is I have huge datasets, and the records are overflowing resulting in errors and failures. I am wondering if we have anything that can make it flow over to next tabs. I cannot move to xlsx because xls that BIRT generate is xml based so it is serving me as an interface down to other apps and also as a direct readable layout.

If you can upgrade to BIRT 4.3, there is XLSX support. If you cannot, you might try using the emitter that's used in the latest version with 2.6:

If that doesn't work, you could always try the old Tribix emitter:

Well, for one it worked with 4.3
But looks like when I configure the 3.7 or older design to put a page break on any group level then it is not identified by the 3.7 engine but the 4.3 does identify it and puts page break pretty much as expected i.e. moves the groups over to next tabs. I am not clear on the usage of page interval though.
Do you think this should be done by 3.7 engine as well ?

With 3.7, the SpudSoft emitter is not in there, so you'd have to go to the link above, download the spudsoft emitter and install it into BIRT 3.7. Without doing this, the out-of-the-box XLS emitter will not page break across sheets.
