We have an own feature based product.
This product depends on a cuple of external features from the target.platform

Is it ok to add external features (from target platform) to my own feature,
or is the feature, on which the product is based - just for the stuff we defined ourselfes?

Usually I would suggest to create a product out of several features to keep the clean separation

Thnx Dirk! And what about dependencies to external features, which come in via the target platform?
How would you maintain them?
In pack them to an own feature too?

I don't understand the question. Why should it be necessary to pack them in an own feature? It should be possible to simply add those features to the product configuration.

If it's about providing p2 updates you should check how to create composite repositories.
