I just installed eclipse on a new Windows 7 machine, and I'm seeing an odd behavior I haven't before.

Sometimes when I open menus or perform an action, it seems to happen twice. This would only be a slight annoyance if it was with menus, but I have been seeing it when I do certain actions as well, like start an external tool or go to debug an executable.

Screenshot examples attached. Has anyone seen this behavior before and been able to fix it?

Update:

This is still an open issue. I have been able to replicate with Juno, Juno SR2, and Kepler M7 (32 and 64 bit variants) with brand new workspaces.

So brand new eclipse, brand new workspace, and brand new OS ? This looks like a bug - except if you have any dodgy plugins - could you post your install details ?

Another idea - I am using the classic theme in windows - give this a whirl

I seem to have a superset of your plugins - though I am based on Java EE - and never had such an issue :

Press the Installation details button and select all (in first tab) and hit Control-C to copy your install details to clipboard

Hi Palmer:

I agree that this is a very odd behavior. I have worked with Eclipse on other Windows 7 machines before, and this was the first time I have seen this problem.

I attached a text document with my install details (I tried a gist link, but the forum got mad at me...).

I also switched to the Classic theme (from the Windows 7 Classic theme), but the problem seems to persist.

I am also seeing the same behaviour in various Eclipse-based applications, including Eclipse Classic and Modelio. I am using Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. If there's any useful diagnostic info I can upload, please let me know...

All

I am also seeing this on Windows 7 but not under Linux. It seems to happen for all context menu actions.
