BIRT report with chinese titles in chart [message #1053118]

I have a few BIRT reports who is localized for both English and Chinese.

Everything looks fine except for the part inside the chart object, here its just squares instead of Chinese text.

I have searched around and found that some people had this problem but I never found any solution.

My question is: Is there anyone who know the exact solution how to display Chinese text for the X and Y Axis-title?

What's your BIRT version? I don't see the same issue in the version I tried it in.

Hi

Same problem here with Birt Version: Kepler Service Release 2
Build id: 20140224-0627

Inside Charts only squares, no valid chinese characters are shown.

I am using BIRT 2.6.1 for the purposes of this project.

We are moving to version 4.3.1 over the coming months. Michael, is 4.3 the version that it works in Michael ?

Ensure you are using the right font family, a font family that support Chinese characters, BIRT seems to recommend a setting of "all-fonts" as the font family.

There should be a way via configuration to map a font name to a font family to avoid hard coding the name "all-fonts" in your rptdesign files, but this you will have to find out. Let us know if you do.

Anthony, yeah, I believe I tried it in 4.3.2. It could have been 4.3.1 though.
