Hi,

I'm making a graphical editor having AS-IS and TO-BE models. It would thus be very useful to be able to graphically compare two GMF diagrams.

I found this online on this topic: http://www.jonmedia.net/en/publications/master-thesis

but i can't implement it. I get import errors in the java classes of the org.eclipse.emf.compare.gmf plugin, and in the runtime, it creates a lot of error when trying to use the GMF compare function. I don't really know either how to really install this plugin, which is now just imported from the CVS..

Does anybody have more info on this topic of graphically comparing GMF models??

Regards,

Simon

Hi,

specifing the errors that you get a bit further would help a lot.

Ok Ralph, i added some screenshots to explain my problem:

1. I import the folders from the CVS in the first post and get two unresolved errors, seen in the first attached image.

index.php/fa/14569/0/

2. I go to the runtime preferences->general->content types->GMF compare, and add the domain and diagram extensions of the files i which to compare. (second attached image)

index.php/fa/14570/0/

3. If i choose compare->local history, an empty compare screen appears with a given error (third attached image)

index.php/fa/14571/0/

The details of the loop exception are given in the last two images..

regards,

Simon

I would suggent looking at the following project. It has GMF support and is actively mantained -

http://wiki.eclipse.org/EMF_Compare/User_Guide#Graphical_Comparison

http://www.eclipse.org/emf/compare/doc/features/videos/EcoreTools-v2/EMFCompareEcoreTools.html

Ok,

I am using Eclipse 4.2.2 Juno with EMF 2.8.3.

I first tried installing EMF Compare 2.1, but after the install, I still wasn't able to graphically compare two files.
I then instlaled EMF Compare 1.3.3, and I can now graphically compare two .ecorediag files, but it's still not possible to graphically compare two examples in runtime..

I tried it with Eclipse 3.7.2 Indigo, same result,.

I don't know if i have to change anything in the preferences view, but if I now try to compare two examples in the runtime, i only get the 'visualization of structural differences', no the visualization of graphical differences...
