The news is already in descending order, and for the articles, there is
a link called "Most Recent articles" on the articles home page that does
just that: http://www.eclipse.org/articles/index.php?filter=recent

The confusion might be based on the date format that is being used
(dd-mm-yyyy). It seems like it ought to either be yyyy-mm-dd or based
on the user's locale. I would vote for yyyy-mm-dd.
