Hello,

Is there a place where I can find documentation on the model explorer browser customization? I've been playing a bit with it by removing, adding and combining several customizations... But it's still cloudy to figure out which combination of browser customizations in which order will provide the desired model explorer configuration.

Mainly I'd like a way to navigate fast through an imported model library with nested classifiers (the model contains multiple (5-7) levels) and specifying types takes a while... The 'SimpleUml' browsercustomization seems to make the 'nestedClassifier' levels dissappear (1 less arrow to click) but it also drops the possibility to navigate in imported packages...

kind regards,

Dieter

Hi,

Papyrus relies on EMF Facet "uiCustom" models to customize the ModelExplorer ("BrowserCustomization"). This is the same mechanism as described in the MoDisco documentation:

http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/mdt/modisco/nightly/doc/org.eclipse.modisco.doc/
http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/mdt/modisco/nightly/doc/org.eclipse.modisco.infrastructure.doc/mediawiki/custom/user.html

EMF Facet is a project initially created from a subset of MoDisco. The documentation is the same, but we really rely on the EMF Facet component. You may need to activate the "EMF Facet" capability (And disable the MoDisco one) to avoid confusion (Window > Preferences > General > Capabilities)

Regarding the Simple UML customization, it's still in development. See:

394937: [Model Explorer] Papyrus shall propose a simplified model explorer view.
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=394937

When it is finished, it should become the default customization. Until then, you'll have to apply it manually.

Regards,
Camille

Thanks. The SimpleUML customization is already a great customization. If it will improve even more, I'm looking forward to the result!

Going to explore those uiCustom-files for temporary solutions.
