Why do I want precompiled versions?
I have no problem in compiling the code myself, but since the version is
using the qualifier principle it will get the timestamp when I compiled /
exported the bundle.
So a user can end up having the same bundle with the same version number
installed several times, with the only difference that the timestamp will
be different.

But, not sure that's what you are asking. You are wanting to use an
Orbit bundle? Or producing your own?

We use map files for PDE build, so the plugin qualifier is determined by
the cvs timestamp (not the time of the build).

Using a map file might be what you need? (But, more a PDE Build issue,
not Orbit).

Once a bundle exists, there are ways to download and use that exact,
already built bundle ... clients of Orbit often use the map files
produced by Orbit, that have a "get" form to them (instead of cvs).

But, not sure that's what you are asking. You are wanting to use an
