When generating a report in PPT format, we are using properties files to display the string in english and non-english language in a Text report item.

When generating the reports on a linux/unix with Japanese language (setting through browser), the text shown in Japanese does not wrap correctly.

We have reports in multiple formats html, xls, pdf. All these formats wrap the text in Japanese language correctly, the issue happens only with PPT.

When the same report is generated on a Windows system with the same browser settings, the wrapping is done correctly in all formats including PPT.

Is there some setting that can help wrap the text correctly?

Have you tried running the PPT in libreoffice or openoffice to see if it is working correctly outside of the browser? What Linux distro are you running and is it only on one distro or more than one? One option could be to use the openoffice api to convert the PDF to a PPT.

Hi Kristopher,
Thank you for the reply, I tried in open office on windows OS, wrapping is still a problem. Looks like the wrapping has been coded inside the ppt file itself and not dynamic.

The customer wants it directly on PPT without convertion via PDF. As an alternate we have suggested to use PDF format, but they wanted with PPT directly.
