What is the 'story' for Java EE 7 support in Kepler?

I am trying find out if Tomcat 8 will be a supported 'Server Runtime'.

Thanks,

With respect to the Server Runtime, this is something I hope to start
looking into in the near future. I have done some preparation for this,
but haven't really started studying the situation yet. I need to get
past "tax time" first. Given that Tomcat 8 has yet to start releasing
"alphas" let alone "betas", it may still be to much of a "moving target"
to include support in Kepler. Thus I won't guarantee that support for
Tomcat 8 will be there, but it might. It all depends on what I find.

Cheers,
Larry

I cannot speak for Tomcat 8, but Java EE 7 is supported in Kepler. You will be able to create the following projects:

Application Client 7
Connector 1.7
EJB 3.2
EAR 7
Web 3.1
Web Fragment 3.1

It's in the works for WTP 3.6. An initial version may appear in 3.6M2.

8.0 is not yet final. Keep an eye on http://bugs.eclipse.org/422340 . You'll see the first bits of supporting changes in M4.

Hello!

I've checked org.eclipse.jst.server.tomcat.core_1.1.500.v20131211_0945.jar and everything with Tomcat 8.0.0-RC10 works fine!
There are also no problems with github.com/grgrzybek/tomcat-slf4j-logback
