Hi everybody.
Sometime ago I came across Dawn, and it punched me as a very interesting and useful project. Lately, however, I have not seen much activity or news about it or about Martin Fluegge, who I believe was behind much of the development.

Therefore, I was wondering, which is the current state of Dawn?
Is it still going?
Thanks in advance,
JP

Hi, JP,

FWIW, I am currently working on integrating CDO into the MDT Papyrus
project for persistence of UML models in CDO repositories. This
solution plans to use Dawn. So far, my results are promising. Also,
as a committer on CDO, I have made several fixes/enhancements in the
"legacy mode" required by Dawn for persistence of the GMF notation
model, and I intend to make further fixes/enhancements in that
component and in Dawn as required by Papyrus.

So, it's still kicking. :-)

If you do find issues, please report them. And feel free, always, to
contribute patches!

HTH,

Christian

Thanks, Christian, great news!
Here (I work as a researcher at a university/company sort of collaboration network) we are starting to look at technologies for visualization of models on web browsers
(which Dawn planned to provide, and actually provides at some level).

I don't know how the prospection will end up, but if we end up using Dawn at some level, we would surely like to contribute.
Thanks again for your answer.
Regards,
JP

Hi Juan,

a lot of things forced me to reduce my Dawn activities during the last
years. But as Christian said, there is progress due to the great things
he plans with the papyrus integration. And I am also quite optimistic
that I can start spending more time again during the next month.

Cheers,

Martin

Hi, JP,

Ah, I see. I'm actually not looking at the web browser end of things
in the foreseeable future. Nonetheless, I'm willing to help in any way
that I can to facilitate your work.
