Since Eclipse is not working in the Red hat environment, crashes every time I enter "this.", bugs (bug 397782) generated with logs show no interest let alone resolution, does anyone know a stable JDT that is available?

Some comments:
- please apply a bit more patience, a few days wait doesn't imply nobody cares
- this clearly is not a question about a stable JDT, the problem is in the browser integration of SWT
- their are options to use a different browser than mozilla, you should try Preferences > General > Web Browser (do you have WebKit installed?)
- it would be interesting if you could try several JVM's to see if IcedTea is to blame.

OTOH, I can only say that on Kubuntu I haven't seen that problem, which at least indicates it's not a general Linux problem.

HTH,
Stephan

JDT is stable but your install is probably not. It looks like the same
problem as reported in https://bugs.eclipse.org/385035 . Please read the
comments in there, they have hints on how to fix the Web browser install.

I am restricted to using Red hat. There is no browser being used in the application nor is a browser being run in the background. All that is required for the crash is to type: this.

Just believe Dani and your stacktrace: Eclipse was internally trying to create browser widget for displaying some information.
The rest you'll find in the bug Dani mentioned.

JDT uses a Browser-Widget to e.g. show JavaDoc!

I have posted on the other bug report, no response. I don't have any of the files on my computer that they request I search for but still have the issue. Following the thread is seems that there are others with this problem. Bottom line it seems Eclipse will be unuseable for weeks.
