I'm at my wits end. I've tried everything to get CDT installed.

I'm using Juno (3.7.0), and installed it on Fedora by using

yum install eclipse

I've tried installing CDT by using yum to install "eclipse-cdt*". It seems to succeed. Then, I start eclipse, and looking at the install history, it shows CDT installed and then removed. The timestamp for it being removed is the exact time that I started up eclipse.

So, then I've tried removing CDT by using "yum erase". All is fine.

Then inside eclipse, I try getting CDT from a repository. I've tried both of the following:

http://download.eclipse.org/tools/cdt/releases/indigo (contains CDT 8.0.2)

http://download.eclipse.org/releases/juno/ (contains CDT 8.1.1)

I always choose just the basic "C/C++ Developer Tools", because I don't think I need the SDK. The install works fine. It instructs me that I need to restart Eclipse. When I do, it uninstalls again.

I absolutely need this to do my job, so I need help on this very soon. Thanks!

You'll have to contact the maintainer of the Fedora packages for Eclipse. The Eclipse supported way of installing is to download the zip file from eclipse.org and unzip it into a folder on your system. You install additional plugins using the Help->Install New Software menu item.

Well, I don't know who that would be, and it's not worth it. I just uninstalled eclipse completely, then got the .tar.gz file that has C/C++ functionality built in. It works!

Thanks!
