I have just got a new computer , it is a mac but i have never had this problem on my other mac with eclipse . I have tried so many different ways to fix this but no look . (i have deleted it and downloaded again still no luck) the full message appears when i start my eclipse and says.

"Egit could not detect where GIT is installed"

Egit dose not requires Git to function, but there may be important setting in the installation directory the egis needs to know about in order to be compatible with git . the most important of these setting is core.autocrif.Git for windows by default sets this parameter to true in the ect directory of the Git installation.
The directory can be configured in pretences under Team> Git.

if somebody , has experienced this and knows how to help it would be deeply appreciated also all of my projects when loads up have a red ! only on this computer they are fine on others in the eclipse environment.

Thank you.
Natasha.

Better to ask on the eclipse.egit forum. This looks like a recent
question there. Have you installed the command line git? Probably not
and it's a good idea to do so...

This is something that's begun happening in recent months. It's
associated with Eclipse Juno, no? If you don't care about using Git or
eGit, you can ignore it and it doesn't keep you from using Eclipse, right?

Someone who groks this might consider placing a sticky post in the forum
with a description of the problem and solution so the rest of us can
point folk to it.
