If I have an eclipse installation -- which means an opened up tgz of eclipse followed by some plugins installed.

Is it possible to copy out these files/directories to other machines with similar hardware and OS and have it run?

This is because the other machines are behind a firewall and all our attempts to update the plugins past the firewall have not succeeded...

[If the answers for windows and linux are far apart I would appreciate answers for both these please!]
