Sounds like you might have selected Go Into from the context menu. This
focuses the workspace on the selected item. There should be an icon in
the tool bar for the Project Explorer window that looks like a folder
with a blue arrow pointing up. If you hover over it it should say Up to
Workspace. Click the icon to get back to the workspace.
