Hi,

I have installed VEX on my MAC. Everything seems to be ok. Installation ok and so on.

BUT:

Reading http://wiki.eclipse.org/Vex/UserGuide there is no "Authoring section", no samples to see.

What went wrong????

Hi Thomas,

I added some screenshots to the Vex User Guide. If you cannot find the shown entry of the "New" wizard, something went wrong with your Vex installation. In this case, you should have a look into "Help > About Eclipse > Installation Details" if you can find any evidence of Vex.

Best Regards,

Florian

Thanks,

but I fear there is nothing useful to do with the Editor...

For example:
Quote:
Add Element
To insert a new element at the current cursor position or - in the case if something is selected - to surround the selected text or fragment with a new element:

Choose Document | Add | Element... (or hit Ctrl+Space)
In the content assist which pops up choose the element to add by one of the following possibilities:
Use Up and Down keys to select element and hit Return
Click on the element to add
To filter the list of elements type the name or a part of the name and hit Return to add the topmost element
Tip: To place the cursor at the proper position (e.g. a new chapter between two existing chapters in DocBook) see the path which is shown in the status bar.

Where do I find such a command????? Neither in a menu nor in context mouse menu there is any hint of Document....
How can I convert a file? I found absolutely NOTHING. Ctrl-Space? Didn't work.
Eh... by the way: I am using Mac, no Windows...

My conclusion for now: a good idea but without any useful doc not useful at all. Unfortunately...

Thomas,

thank you for that straight feedback. This helps us to focus on the
really important things. As a first step we will create a screencast for
the "getting started" use case (bug 397451).

Just to be sure: did you try "[Apple]-Space" instead of Ctrl-Space?
