Coz i'm new to this i have to start from the
bottom.I've managed to install eclipse juno.Then in Window --> Preferences --> Java --> Installed JREs...There i see JRE 7 selected.When i click add,it gives 3
options.which one i should choose?1.standard vm 2.standard 1.1x vm

You only need a JDK (instead of a JRE) if you are developing in Java...

....which, it appears you are since you speak of Tomcat. I have a pretty
verbose summary and discussion on all of this if you wish to visit

http://www.javahotchocolate.com/tutorials/eclipse-summary.html

Hope it helps.
