I think that I broke eclipse. I decided to move some of my workspace files around in an effort to organize my projects better. However, Sad

all my files promptly disappeared from my package explorer. I decided to restart eclipse, pointing it to my new workspace location. When it finished starting up, it displayed the welcome to eclipse screen, (even though I have been using eclipse for more than 8 months) I also lose some (but not all?) of my plugins and all of my preferences have been reset. Could someone please help me. I also tried moving the files back into their previous locations and restarting eclipse, making sure to point it to the correct workspace location. However the same thing happened, empty package explorer, welcome screen, and newly fixed prefs/plugins gone. Please help...I cant lose these files! Shocked

Only having folders inside the director you pointed your eclipse too is
not enough. You need to tell Eclipse about them by using "Import >
Existing Projects in to Workspace"

BTW: Make yourself familiar with a VCS like Subversion, Git or Mercurial
so that you don't lose stuff whatever happens.
