TPTP stops collecting data after a few minutes [message #141713] Tue, 07 April 2009 11:10 Go to next message

I am running entirely on my local Windows machine using the agent
controller to send information about a jython (2.1) script, which in turn
makes calls to some customer java libs.
The problem is that while maintaining the connection, TPTP stops
collecting data after a few minutes. It seems fairly consistent in the
length of time that it stays connected to the script.

Any help would be much appreciated.

A little more information...
I am using:
* agntctrl.win_ia32-TPTP-4.5.2.zip -- out of the box; no special config
* Eclipse Ganymede on Win XP

I found that I am able to get better results if I greatly restrict the
number of classes I am profiling via filtering. I'm currently profiling
about 10 classes. On a related note, whenever I reconnect to the agent
controller, I need to redefine the filter. Is there a way to save filters
on a global level and have them applied to each new connection?

Thanks!
Russell

Hi Russell,

Could you describe more about how the collection stoped? Does the agent
terminated, not showing '...collecting' anymore, nor run out of memory?
In the filter configuration dialog, you can create a new filter set with
your list of filter and it will be persisted across profiling session and be
reused.
