I have been reading about the fast C++ indexer vs. full indexer. In Kubuntu 12.10, I can only find the full indexer ("C/C++ Indexer"). I have a project for which the indexing is taking an enormous amount of time.

How do I get the fast indexer? Does it only exist in Windows? Or else, is there a plugin for the fast indexer in Linux?

Hello,

you already have the "Fast indexer".

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=294864

The Indexer has many open bugs and even the "fast indexer" is not really fast...

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=cdt+indexer

regards,
Klaus

Thanks for the explanation. I was also having memory problems but increasing "cache limits" in Preferences -> C/C++ -> Indexer solved my problem.
