Nice work on the overal site design, this is a vast improvement over the
previous architecture and appearance.

I do find that the project navigation is difficult to follow. I think
this is because of two things. First is the way the left side navigation
is used. Second is the appearance of the content in main content area.

When I click on the main Projects tab, the left side navigation expands
and gives a lot of general information about projects (i.e. development
process, dashboards, proposals, etc...). While this is useful information
I don't believe it is the source of most project related traffic. When I
click on the main Projects tab, I'm generally looking for a specific
project, I'm not interested in proposing a new one or reviewing the
development process. I believe that the list of active projects should be
displayed in that left hand navigation to make them easy to access. I've
also noticed that Committers, Newsgroups, Bugs and Articles always remains
in the same place on the left nav. If these are global links, maybe they
should live in the top nav? At the very least, there should be some
visual cue between those links and the tab specific navigation.

The way the top-level projects are presented in the main content area
makes it difficult quickly spot the project names. The font size and
color used for the project names (and links) do not make them stand out.
I would also suggest using an arrangement similar to the one used for TPTP
where the project name stands on it's own line. Increasing the font size
and weight would make it easier to call out the project names.

Overall, this looks like a great start and more flexible arrangement to
grow the content of the site. I look forward to continued improvement.

Regards,

Mike Dalrymple

Mike,
Thanks for the comments, but could you enter them as bugs? We're working
on improving the site based on feedback like yours, but we're using
Bugzilla as our driving force.

Feel free to add your opinions to these existing bugs or to enter new
ones. Even better, use anonymous CVS to fetch the website source files,
make the improvements, and then contribute them back to the community as
patches. That would be very helpful.
