Question regarding saved context [message #12829] Mon, 16 July 2007 15:04 Go to next message

I'm using Eclipse 3.3 and Mylyn 2.0 and have a question regarding the
saving of a context. It seems as though as I open classes, resources,
etc that the class and the package are saved into the context. When I
close the source in the java editor, the class reference is removed from
the context. However, the package reference remains in the context,
just no classes are identified in the package. Am I doing something
incorrectly? I would think even after I close an item in the java
editor, it would remain as part of the context.

Thanks for any suggestions!

The following is a link to an earlier discussion on this issue and may
help clarifying

Thanks so much, that helped out tremendously. I hadn't found (and I did
search) for a previous post to this subject. Thanks again.

In addition to that very useful thread that Xiaoyang points out, note
that the context model should do a better job at handling the interest
of parent nodes (e.g. packages) when the interest of their children is
manipulated:

118542: [context] open/close Java files leave interest on packages
