I started testing the AGR, to check if it's good enough for my needs. It
looks quite o.k. to me, but I encountered difficulties while trying to run
a specified test in standard mode.

When running my test in quick-mode, everything is working well... i'm
selecting a xml-file from the package-explorer and doing some stuff using
an SWT-GUI... but when i am executiong my run configurations (designed
like showen in the tutorial), my projects doesn't appear in the
package-explorer of the 2nd eclipse-instance, leading to a test-failure at
"item-expand" (because there is no item, that could be expanded)...

what am i doing wrong?!

i have to say, that i havent realy got, what the context is about (and
left the "Use current workbench as context" checkbox checked)... is this
the key?!

btw.: i was not able to find a manual or a documentation for AGR, just the
short tutorial (An Introduction to Using TPTPs AGR)... is there something
that explains a littler more than the tutorial?!

thanks in advance,
yoe

O.k. - solved it today! Of course, it was quite simple! I just did not
recognize, that there is a different workspace, the 2nd instance is
working with. So there are 2 ways of solving my problem.

1st... i can create testcases creating the project that should be tested,
and let them work befor the "real" testcases are working;
2nd... i can uncheck the checkbox "Clear workspace data before launch",
and create the project in the auto-gui-workspace!

so - i have to appologize for the stupid question and am now happy,
because everything is working fine!

regards,
yoe

Hi Yoe,
Glad to hear that your test is running now. When recording, keep in
mind that you cannot record interactions with files or other enabled UI
widgets that would not be available in your playback environment/workspace.

All of the AGR documentaiton is referenced in the Getting Started guide:

http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/test/documents/gettingstarted/Au tomated_GUI_Recorder_Getting_Started.html#3.0
