I'm having troubles profiling with Ganymede. Profiling a small process
(that takes about just about 45 seconds to finish execution in the
profiler) makes Eclipse memory usage go up to 700MB and become sluggish.
After each profiling session I've to kill it from the task manager since
it won't even close.

I've tried both with the IAC and with a standalone AC, and the same
application profiles fine in my older computer with eclipse Europa and a
standalone AC.

I'm running windows XP, with eclipse Ganymede.

Any clue of anything that I might be doing wrong? Thanks!

Hi Santi,

Did you change the profiling filter? or update the profiling filter to
include only your pacakge/class/method for data you need?
What kind of profiling are you trying to do? Eclipse application, Simple
Java, or maybe Web application?

Thanks for your reply Eugene. I'm trying to debug a simple Java
application: it loads a text file from disk, performs some processing (a
machine learning algorithm) and spits the output to the console. Nothing
fancy.

Actually, now it's even worse. Since I updated to the new version of TPTP,
I cannot even open the profiling window. Eclipse just hangs. Also, if I go
to window -> properties -> agent controller -> security certificate, it
also hangs.

For now I'm profiling with my old computer with Europa. Is this just me or
is this happening to other people?

Hi Santi,

Which JVM level are you running Eclipse with? (try java.exe -version)
Do you see any suspicious log entry in the workspce/.metadata/.log file?
