Hello,

I am having a problem with using tptp.
I manged to work with it not too long ago, but It seems that after the
last eclipse update (not a major version update) it stopped working.
Now, when I choose to profile the same application that worked before (a
console application), it transfers to the profiling perspective but
nothing happens (no text is written to the console view, no information is
added to the profiling views).
I checked any there doesn't seem to be any relevant info in the
workspace/.metadata/.log file.

I am running Vista with the latest eclipse version (3.4) and tptp (4.5
from the update site, not the development version)

Any ideas?

Thanks...

Yoav,

Are you using the integrated Agent Controller? Is it running?

If yes, did you try using the standalone Agent Controller instead?

Thanks,
Asaf

Hi Asaf,

Yes, I did try to work with the integrated agent controller and it seems
to be running ok (process is present in the task manager, "test
connection" from eclipse preferences works).

I can try working with the standalone version. I tried to take a look at
the installation instructions of it and it was a bit unclear. What should
I download and how should I run it? Should it be placed outside of the
eclipse folder?

Thanks,
Yoav

1. Download the Agent Controller from the TPTP download page.
2. Unzip the files into a local directory on your disk (does not have to
be inside the Eclipse directory).
3. Open Command Prompt, change directory to the AC installation
directory and run the SetConfig.bat script. If you are not sure which
information to provide, simply hit Enter to accept the defaults.
3. Run the ACServer.exe file. You can also install the Agent Controller
as a Windows service if you like. Check the Readme file for additional
information.
4. Launch Eclipse, open the Preferences Page, Agent Controller section,
and disable the Integrated Agent Controller.

HTH,
Asaf

Hi Asaf,

I tried your suggestion but unfortunately got the same outcome - a blank
screen with no other indication.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Yoav
