Creating a Tomcat Server in Eclipse [message #959990]

Hi,

I wanted to change from Tomcat 6 to Tomcat 7 in Eclipse.
So I deleted my Tomcat 6 Server and wanted to define a Tomcat 7 server.

However, when I choose to create a new server (Servers->New->Other->Server->Server), the "Finish" button is disabled.

The default server type is "Tomcat 6", the host name is "localhost" and the server name is empty. I cannot enter anything into server name. And the "Finish" button is disabled.

It does not change anything when I select "Tomcat 7".

How can I create a server again?
Why is Tomcat 6 preselected?

And a totally different question:
My GWT Project still works. Doesn't it use the Tomcat server?

Did you ever get a solution to loading Tomcat 7? I am having the same problem with not server name being displayed.

Hi,

You must do a Windows->Preferences->Server->Runtimes and create a Tomcat
7 runtime by pointing to an installed JRE and an installed Tomcat 7
installation. Only then can create a server instance for it.

hey you can try this
