Hi,

We downloaded the TPTP Profiler, which is about 2.56MB. This was
integrated with our Eclipse Europa 3.3. We went through the documentation
and followed the instructions accordingly. But we did not get the expected
results.

Hence we tried with TPTP Eclipse SDK Version: 3.3.2 Build id:
M20080221-1800. We switched to the Profiler and Logging perspective and we
were able to get the Execution statistics, Coverage Statistics, Memory
Statistics, Object Reference and Execution Flow views.

Now on a sample Java class we chose to Profile As – java Application which
fired a “Edit Launch Configuration Properties” dialog. On the Monitor tab,
we enabled “Java Profiling – JRE 1.5 or newer” and chose “Execution time
Analysis”. After we are done and we get a error window which has the
following error

org.eclipse.core.runtime.CoreException: The process launcher seems to be
inactive. Restart the Agent Controller and try again.

We did download the Agent controller and activated (going by the document
provided).

However the Agent controller listens on to a port. We are building a Java
class which does not require a port.

Here is the environment

Windows xp sp2
TPTP Eclipse 3.3.2.
RAM – 2GB
Pentium CPU 3.2GHz

Can anyone help us with this error?

Also can you please let us know How to integrate the TPTP Profiler with
Europa Eclipse 3.3. Thank you.

So, did you install TPTP via update site or manually?

Could you clarify this?

Please try to use standalone agent controller, it can be download from
TPTP site. Use documentation to deploy and configure it.
Also you can check is AC started then you are trying profile or not.
ACServer.exe process should be in task manager.

You can download appropriate version from TPTP site, TPTP 4.4.1 should be
Ok with Europa.

Thanks,
Alex
