Hi Eric,

I am not sure if any of the TPTP developers watch this newsgroup.
I have cc'd the conversation over to the TPTP group

Eric,

This forum is the correct place to ask questions about TPTP in general
and about the TPTP Java Profiler.

Let us know if you have any specific questions or problems, and we'll do
our best to help.

Best regards,
Asaf

Specifically, how to I actually get the profiler to run when the agent
controller doesn't seem to be working?

More generally, has anyone thought about improving the user experience
surrounding TPTP?

Cheers, Eric

That=E2=80=99s a good hint. Of course they have, but I have to say that =
my user=20
experience is also very bad: install plugin, try around, give up (since=20
luckily, it turned out I didn=E2=80=99t need profiling =E2=80=93 yet). M=
aybe some other=20
time.

My only effort right now is to watch this group and see whether a=20
solution is found which might work for me.

The TPTP project is aware of the usability issues related to the Agent
Controller and is actively trying to resolve these issues. There are
still some open issues related to the Integrated Agent Controller, and
you can browse through this newsgroup to get some hints how to make it work.

You can also try any of the following alternatives:
1. Install and use the standalone Agent Controller. This is known to
work in most environments.
2. Use the profiler is "offline" mode (without the Agent Controller) and
then import the collected data into the workbench. Please see the
"Profiling in standalone mode" topics in the Eclipse/TPTP online help
for more information.

Asaf
