Hi,
First off, I would like to thank the development team for RAP. It is a
great framework and I wish the best of luck in the future for this
framework and the team working on it!
I'm using the RAP 1.1.2 Service Release with Eclipse 3.4.2 and have run
into a strange problem with session timeouts.
We've created a largish application using the workbench (it's a case
management tool).
I'm running Equinox directly in a 1.5.0 JVM (on i5/OS V5R4) and have the
org.eclipse.equinox.http.jetty.context.sessioninactiveinterv al set to
about 40 minutes in my config.ini. Sessions appear to be timing out fine,
however we're experiencing the following:
- In Firefox 3, we get the "The server session timed out" page, and
everything is working fine.
- However, in Internet Explorer 6 (unfourtantly my target environment),
after the session times out, IE appears to just "lock up" and not display
this page. Dropdown menus drop but don't display any options and IE fails
to display the session timeout page.
Any idea what we could have done to cause this?
ps. We had a default exception handler to display a dialog to the user in
the postStartup in the ApplicationWorkbenchAdvisor. If we displayed a
dialog in the "Content is disposed" case, it looked like we deadlocked
inside of RAP. This caused nasty problems where the jetty
sessionscavenger thread would also deadlock. So, we don't display the
error dialog in that case anymore!
thanks again

Hi Brendan,
there was an open bug about that issue. It is fixed in the 1.2 stream of
RAP. It was a rather easy fix but I don't think there are any service
releases planned for 1.1 to backport it.
See https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=264150
