I am trying to use eclipse 4.2 on linux/debian

When I start it I get the eclipse juno splash screen and then a small window and nothing.

Googling around I find
- advise to upgrade to juno -- I am trying juno
- advise to use some version of xulrunner which is not available any more
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=236724#c22
The link suggested there is dead.

Most trouble with starting Eclipse of any version on any platform is
solve in making certain you've got a good JDK or JRE (I advise against
openJDK--go get a real Sun JDK from Oracle) that matches the bittedness
(32- or 64-bit) of the Eclipse you downloaded. Don't get Eclipse from
anywhere (like the Ubuntu Software Center) except eclipse.org. Also,
read http://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse.ini.

Best of luck.

I tracked (kindof) the problem.

I had two eclipse installations: one with a bunch of plugins and one without.
When I deleted all the plugin jar and related files the non-working one started working.
Now how do I find the offending plugin(s)?

PS Sorry for the multi-posting -- I see its happening to others as well but have no idea what is triggering it
