Can someone please point me to instructions (or detail them here) on how
to profile a 3.3.1.1 RCP application on Linux? I've found various bits
and pieces on how to do it but nothing comprehensive and full-proof.
Thanks in advance!

OK, I followed the instructions but our RCP application never gets off the
ground. Meaning, I see the Eclipse splash screen but then it terminates
with no results. (What's curious is that the splash screen isn't our
custom one...)
I thought there was something particular about our RCP application so I
created the example mail RCP that comes with Eclipse. Same thing happens.
I try profiling it (using Execution Time Analysis), the splash screen is
displayed (the wrong slash screen as I already mentioned) then the
application terminates with no results.
Can someone please provide step-by-step instructions to profile the
example mail RPC application under 3.3.1.1 on Linux? Thanks so much.

Hi, Rob
Behavior mentioned by you looks quite strange.
Please verify what executed class, class path and RCP options are correct
in Profile Configuration dialog.
Just to get whole picture could you send here:
1. Version of JRE
2. Version of OS on which you are trying to profile
3. What way did you use to install TPTP in Eclipse 3.3.1.1
Could you try to play with mail RCP profiling on Windows version of TPTP?
Mentioned scenario works on Windows and you will be able to study TPTP
while problem is investigated.
Don't hesitate to rise bug against TPTP if you feel what its behavior is
incorrect.
Thanks,
Alex.

Rob, problem of incorrect profiled RCP execution on Linux really exists on
TPTP 4.4.0.3. But for 4.5M5 it isn't reproduced and seems was implicitly
fixed. Please use this version. It isn't accessible via update manager
yet, so download it from TPTP site, you can take only TPTP plugins or
"allinone" bundle which includes all required products.
Thanks,
Alex

Thanks so much, Alex! I'll give that version and 4.4.0.3 on Windows a try
with the Mail RCP example and let you know if I have any problems.
Thanks again,
Rob
