I have a set of plugins that are currently delivered as an RCP. Are there
any guidelines or gotchas for delivering the same set of plugins for a
vanilla eclipse deployment?

As you keep your "RCP plug-ins" dependencies, they are with no
modification perfectly valid also for other RCP apps like Eclipse IDE
itself.

In other words, there is not technical difference.
