Hello everyone. I'm fairly new to eclipse, and am having quite a lot of difficulty trying to get this Java Decompiler plugin to install.

I'm following the instructions on the official decomiler free website that it won't let me link because I haven't posted here 25 times. Also looks like I'll need to use a screenshot to show the error for this same reason.

Supported Platforms

Windows 32/64-bit

I have Windows 7, 64-bit OS.

Windows Platform Prerequisites

The native library, included into JD-Eclipse for Windows, has been built with Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition. Some runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries are required to run the decompiler. You can download and install them from the Microsoft Web site :

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64)

I have downloaded, uninstalled, and re-installed these programs, with prior and post reboots to follow.

Add a new repository to add JD-Eclipse plug-in:

Click on the Add... button to open the New Repository dialog window.
Type JD-Eclipse Update Site in the site Name text box.
In the URL text box, type the URL for the JD-Eclipse update site: (link I'm not allowed to post here) (shown below) and click OK.

I go into Help, Install New Software...

Click Add.. and enter the two correct fields as indicated above.

I select the plugin to install, agree to the terms and click Finish. It begins to install then fails to install with the following error:

(See attachment)

This is something I've tried to research into and resolve on my own, but 3 hours of doing so has left me with little option than to seek help from more experienced people who has this successfully installed on the same operating system.

Could anyone please help me figure out why this isn't installing?

Mackenzie~

300+ views on the official Eclipse forums and not one person can tell me why they think I'm getting this error? I must admit, I'm rather surprised by this.

Would be nice not having to de-compile all 100 of these classes manually.. might get an error or two. :/

No one? Could anyone please point me to where Tech Support is for Eclipse then? "Contact Us" just brings me to forums but I see no areas for tech support.

Why can't I install JD-Eclipse using the official guide to download/install the plugin software?

That is my question, Dani.

I see. JD-Eclipse is not from Eclipse.org. You would have to ask the
provider of that plug-in, why it fails to install. I quickly checked
their page and it does not mention for which Eclipse version their
download is.
