ECF Generic with SSLSockets [message #900041] Fri, 03 August 2012 15:26 Go to next message

Hi all,

how can I use the ECF generic container with SSLSockets? I have successfully created an application by using equinox DS and remote services as within the ECF examples and everything works fine. Now I want to use an encrypted communication.

Because there is only rare documentation, I hope somebody has experiences with this issue or knows a good tutorial. AFAIK Google does not.

Thanks in advance,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

It is possible to use SSLSockets with an ECF generic container, but there are some additions that are currently required (i.e. creating a new provider).

This happens to be one of the things that I personally was looking to add...possibly during fall 2012...and so I've created this enhancement request.

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=391677

Please add yourself to it (the cc list), and hopefully we can address it soon. If you are able and willing to contribute in the implementation of this, it would be most welcome...as we don't have a lot of resources for development at the moment.

Scott
