Hello!

I'm using a XML file parameter for the data source (thanks again Jason!) that I pass in the URL etc. This is working great on my machine, but the next step would be having this setup work with the viewer running on a remote server running tomcat.

I've searched high and low for examples of how to do this and am starting to think it isn't possible! Smile

Is it possible to use a local file as a report parameter for a report located on a remote server? The local machine and server (at least for this test) are located on the same network, so they should be able to see each other.

Can the XML file be saved on a network drive and accessed or does the file have to be located on the server itself that is running tomcat?

Thanks again for your help! I'm really enjoying working with Birt!

Dave,

The xml file has to be accessible either through a url or file from the
server.
