Hello, i constantly have this problem in opening XML files in Eclipse. My JVM size is set at 2GB, but i can't even open an XML file that's as large as 8MB. It's not a problem to open small files.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

What happens when you do that? Maybe you're running out of permgen
space and can increase the MaxPermSize values in the eclipse.ini.

And how much permgen space did you allocate?

Like Ed asks, what actually happens when you try to open this 8MB file?

Please post the exact error, it may help.

on a different note you may find Altova XML Spy better for dealing with XML files, Though I love Eclipse XML editor, XML spy offers more in terms of XSLT debugging, grid view and better performance with large files.
