GWT + WIndowsBuilder ... [message #897172] Sun, 22 July 2012 19:24 Go to next message

Hi,

I am evaluating GWT + Window Builder as a development environment for a large scale project.

On paper GWT looks ideal as is Window Builder, but in practice when I first open a ui.xml file file the design view takes 10 to 15 seconds to appear. That is rather slow, and a bit painful.

Java files are a bit faster but really I would like to use UiBinder.

Is that normal? Is there anything I can do to get it open faster? I have already disabled all validations

I got similar behaviour on both
- Windows XP 32 bit, Intel i3 and 4GB of memory.
- iMac, Intel i3 and 8GB of memory.

Thanks

Nick

The first time you edit a GWT file during a session, GWT needs to start up. Very little time is actually spent by WB itself. Subsequent edits during the same session should be much faster.
