I would like to install a new plugin - the new logback-beagle plugin to my Eclipse Indigo system. I cannot do it due to supposed dependency conflicts. I next try to to update Eclipse itself and it won't let that continue because of dependency conflicts.

How did my system get into such a mess? It is functional now. Why did it let me install stuff in the past that would not be updatable in the future? And how, aside from starting from scratch can I get out of this mess? I thought all these fancy new tools were to make the upgrade process easier?

My configuration is attached.

I cannot get past the following error messages:

Cannot complete the install because of a conflicting dependency.

You can't update from Eclipse 3.x to Juno (based on eclipse 4.2). You have to grab a new download, either eclipse Classic SDK or one of the pre-packaged version from http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/ Unzip it (not over an existing install) and go.

Then install the Juno compatible plugins into your eclipse.
