While creating chart we have an option "Output Format" , in which we have options "PNG, JPG, BMP, SVG".

What is this exactly and how each option makes difference to the final output.

PNG, JPG, and BMP are just image formats. When you output to html the
engine will create an image of that type for the chart. SVG
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scalable_Vector_Graphics

If the browser has an svg viewer you can do things like zoom in etc.
SVG also produces a better quality image for PDF, but comes with the
cost of making the pdf bigger.
