I'm able to reproduce Bug-290741 (not sure it's the same bug) with eclipse 3.7.2 and AJDT 2.2.0

Encoding of Java sources are being determined from content-type: UTF-8

I even tried to force UTF-8 through non-standard compiler options but I had no success with -encoding UTF-8 or -encoding utf8 either.

Am I missing anything? Thanks so much! Please excuse any inconvenience.

Any chance that you can come up with a simple project that you can attach to a new bugzilla issue? There's not much I can do without a way to reproduce.
