Hi

in Indigo, it was possible to run the update from the command line

http://help.eclipse.org/indigo/index.jsp?topic=%2Forg.eclipse.platform.doc.isv%2Freference%2Fmisc%2Fupdate_standalone.html

but this does not to be present in Juno...

is there a similar way to run the update manager from the command line?

thanks in advance
Lorenzo

You can achieve this using the director application: http://help.eclipse.org/indigo/index.jsp?topic=%2Forg.eclipse.platform.doc.isv%2Fguide%2Fp2_director.html

you mean that using

-profileProperties: a comma separated list of <key>=<value> pair. The
property org.eclipse.update.install.features=true will cause the update
manager features to be installed.

will make the update manager to check for updates?

The legacy Update Manager was removed in Juno. It's not distributed in any of the pre-packaged distributions.

I think Pascal meant can use the director in the same manner you used to use the update manager command line.
